Seaclear's patented marine window defoggers consist of a clear resistive connected to a circuit that allows a controlled current to flow through the film causing it to heat.

More specifically, the substrate is a polyester film coated with indium tin oxide, laminated to an optically clear adhesive backing. A optically clear hardcoat is on the surface of the substrate to minimize scratching. Two bus bars are printed with a conductive ink.

A sealed aluminum enclosure is attatched to the substrate by both adhesive and and mechanical mounting screws. The temperature is regulated by a thermostat, our default thermostat turns on at 70* F. and off at 85* F. A second thermostat serves as a satey device, shutting the unit off if it becomes unregulated.
